On behalf of PFVUMC, welcome to Troop 50! We
are proud to charter the Troop, one of the
'newest" BSA troops in the area.
You can think of this as the organization that "owns" Troop 50, kind of
like a fast food franchise. (Ask your parents if that doesn't make
sense.)
As a charter organization, we follow the Boy Scouts of America
Declaration of Religious Principle which "recognizes the religious
element in the training of the member, but is absolutely nonsectarian in it's attitude toward that religious training."
We believe that dialogue, respect and understanding of world religions are an integral part of our mission as a BSA charter organization.
We also believe that suporting Scouting is an integral part of our community outreach and community service, that is, part of how we give back to our neighborhood is though Scouting.
PVUMC has been sharing its facilities with both Troop and Pack 50 since 1963, although there was a break in service with the troop.
We take great pride in our Scouts and Cubs and warmly welcome boys of all faiths into our Troop.
We looking forward to meeting you,
The folks at Park Forest Village United Methodist Church.*
