"un"Official Troop 50 History

The "Rest of the Story"
(with apologies to the late Paul Harvey)

This section of our site is to share some of the more memorable stories that make up the folklore of our troop. Many times, the event itself was definitely not fun or funny...at the time. It is, however, those very times that burn themselves into the troop's collective memory and become the stories that we love most to share.

May 2010
At a recent District Camporee, one of the Scouts was selected as the first aid "victim." As a joke, the other Scouts obtained a triage tag from the EMT who was at the event. The boys labeled their victim "deceased."  Later that evening after the challenge, this same Scout was hit in the face by a flashlight. Although it bled profusely, as head & face wounds tend to do, the cut itself was barely 1/4" long. He was the only "casualty" in the entire camporee! Was he "jinxed" by the tag?
